It is Christmas Eve at Clara’s house. Clara is dancing and playing as she welcomes her friends to the party. The party grows festive with music and dance as Aunt Drosselmeyer arrives. Drosselmeyer draws everyone's attention as she presents life-size clowns & dolls. They are the delight of the party, each taking a turn to dance. Then Drosselmeyer presents to Clara a beautiful Nutcracker that becomes the hit of the party. Clara’s sister Fritz, becomes jealous and promptly breaks the Nutcracker. Clara is heartbroken. As the evening grows late, the guests depart and Clara goes to bed. Clara, worried about her beloved Nutcracker, sneaks back to the room to check on the Nutcracker. As the clock strikes midnight, strange things begin to happen and the room fills with an army of mice, led by the fierce Mouse Queen. As the Nutcracker awakens, he leads his army of toy soldiers into battle with the mice. The Mouse Queen corners the Nutcracker and battles him one-on-one. Clara makes a final daring charge, throwing her pillow at the Mouse Queen, hitting her and distracting her long enough so the Nutcracker can kill the Mouse Queen. The Nutcracker and Aunt Drosselmeyer take Clara on a journey to the Land of Snow, an enchanted forest wonderland where they are welcomed by dancing snowflakes. The Nutcracker then escorts Clara to the Land of Sweets where they are greeted by the Sugar Plum Fairy, Dew Fairy & Snow Queen. The Nutcracker tells the fairies about their daring battle with the army of mice and they reward them with a celebration of dances. Including; Spanish Chocolate, Arabian Coffee, Russian Trepack, Chinese Tea, Merlitons, Mother Ginger & her Children and the Waltz of the Flowers. As a finale, the Sugar Plum Fairy welcomes back Clara’s new friends and invites them all to dance together.Clara is sad to leave her beautiful dream but returns with her Nutcracker!
